Enjoyable, fluffy, very much like watching a rom-com but with sex scenes. :) The setting was charming and the characters trope-y, but well-drawn anyway. The sexuality in this book is a little...well, maybe it's just aggressively straight, I don't know, but I was just struck by how one of the turn-ons exposed repeatedly is like, the contrast of the main characters as feminine and masculine, so that's just something to know about the lens here.

Did not expect so many sex scenes... Kind of took away from the story, the first part of the book before they started going at it like rabbits was way more entertaining to read. The story had depth, the romance was nice until it became ... too uncomfortable to read? It just cheapened the story and it became flat. I could have cried if I lingered on it and my eyes welled with tears when the sisters chose to remodel No Name and how they approached the guilt and grief for their father. .

had me in the first half ngl...
the emotional build up and sexual tension was great....and then it felt like a switch was flipped and the whole tone of the book changed. one min i was reading a fun, flirty, sexy rom com, the next min it was a porno script. the sex scenes were hot and everything, but there some settings and phrases that were difficult to look past.piper & brendan's first time being in a hospital room was...a choice. whilst a member of his crew was being treated for an accident? and other patients were quite literally fighting for their lives? have some COUTH!!!
on top of this, brendan was just too domineering for my personal tastes. i would have sympathised with him more if he'd actually listened/respected the boundaries that piper laid down when they first started seeing each other. but NOOOOOO, brendan relentlessly persuaded her into something more then had the audacity to get mad when she didn't jump in head first with no back up plans.

I loved the first-half of the book, but the second-half was questionable at best. The relationship just developed way too quickly for my liking, and the whole misunderstanding felt incredibly off character and avoidable. I also found several characters to be a bit petty… but I’ll probably read the second since I really liked Hannah. (Also just a side note, but I’m beginning to wonder if pet names just aren’t for me because I wanted to cringe every time ‘baby’ was used)

i'm kinda shocked by how much I liked this. the writing reminded me of Talia Hibbert (in the best way).
there is one thing i HATED about this book though -- which is the abundance of unnecessarily gendered terms to refer to their genitals. I do not like the transphobic undertones of describing her vagina as "her femininity" and his dick as his "maleness" -- ick. Tessa Bailey is certainly liberal with her plethora of descriptive terms for those body parts and I strongly feel that "maleness" and "femininity" should be struck from that list. other than that, the smut was pretty good, and this is definitely a steamy book.
