This was by far my favorite of the Skyward Flight series. Thus far, Jorgen has been a supporting character in this series. It was nice to see him get center stage in this one.

I would recommend reading this one after Cytonic, as it is a nice wrap up of Skyward Flight but also fills in the blanks from where we see Jorgen in that book.

But I was looking forward to this one and it didn’t disappoint. I’m excited to see what happens to these characters once Defiant is released.

The character development was phenomenal for Jorgen. After his parents were brutally killed at the end of the last story, we watched his character break down and embrace denial during grief. With the help of FM and Juno, his character went through mental recovery and he used this as an opportunity for growth.

I already really enjoyed Jorgen's personality and this novel really just expanded on his character in depth. By the end, I became really looking forward to his reuniting with Spensa, presumably in Defiant.

I had a hard time following the constant fighting throughout this novel. The fight scenes are to be expected in a series like this, but some of them felt like they were added purely to introduce plot critical characters, rather than what would have happened at that time.
