Diversity Notes: Diversity in skin race and LGBTQIA+ none of it is central to the story, it's all just side stuff.
I don't know who I am right now, I'm not a murder book fan. Shout out to the best book podcast around- Fictional Hangover- for introducing me to this book. If I hadn't listened to the episode and loved it I would never have read the book.
This was a good mystery, even with hints to what happened I still didn't solve the mystery. Loved the interpersonal drama and loved the Nine. Found Stevie's personal drama a bit boring, but I haven't read any of her other books so I'm lacking that connection.
The audio was great and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys mysteries!

This was sick!!! Equally good as the the trilogy, far better than Box in the Woods in my opinion.
My only grievance was the audible narrater not being very good at accents and a small handful of British lingo was misused a bit. But the story was great and the end has me very excited for the next book in this universe!!

I enjoyed the story and was wrapped up in the international travel and curiosity of who committed the crime.

there is just no way the school should’ve let them leave the country without an adult. i didn’t really enjoy the group of friends involved in the mystery because it seemed like they all thought they were better than everyone else. didn’t pull me in like the first 3 books and tbh now thinking the series could’ve stopped at 3 books.

Um how dare you end the book like that!?!? I bet Maureen cackled at her computer after she sent this to her editor. Evil. I loved this one just as much as the last one in the series. I love Stevie and her brain and her friends. Once again, David is a dipshit. What else is new?
Love, love, loved this installment - the English country house, the teen romantic angst, the literal axe murders… such a great fun book to dive into head first.

Honestly I am pissed. Not only with David but with Maureen herself! How dare she end the book like this and not have the next one announced!! How dare you!!!
On another note, I think this is the first time l actually feel the reveal at the end of a book. I have been reading so many books which I know the ending, reading something that make me mad at the end is a new feeling. I listened to this series without knowing anything and I'm so happy I did. I will be waiting for the next book very anxiously.
