It's probably best not to read this right now, if it ever will be.

Enjoyable read, but I liked Dept. of Speculation better.

I wasn’t a fan of [b:Dept. of Speculation|17402288|Dept. of Speculation|Jenny Offill|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1367929545l/17402288._SX50_.jpg|24237023] but there must have enough there to make me interested enough to try this… and it is a bit better… not really a plot just a very long stream-of-consciousness sort of thing… i’ve read reviews pointing out the “wit” and “humour” but I completely missed any of that stuff, all I got was depression and fear… I wasn’t entertained but it did have something okay going on, I just can’t say what because I can’t figure out what it was myself… 2.66 stars

The formatting is both challenging and fun, the story being told in thoughts and anecdotes

I enjoyed most of the musings within, related to some and found many amusing. However, I don't feel this was as profound as it was described as on the back cover. This feels like a mixture of The Harpy and No One is Talking About This without really reaching the level of either. Maybe I'm just so used to world ending stuff that this no longer feels very fictional.

It's hard being a human and a mom and a wife and a sister and a daughter and an aunt and a co-worker and a neighbor and holding it all together. I enjoyed glimpses into Lizzie brain as she trudges along. And, oh, yeah, climate anxiety!

felt like the whole book was leading up to something big but really nothing happened at all. Definitely relatable in the feeling of having to carry on with regular life in a world falling into chaos. i find myself thinking of certain lines like “these people want immortality but can’t wait 10 minutes for a cup of coffee”
