I am a huge Sleeping Beauty stan, and this has been on my TBR forever. I finally decided to listen to it today and I am so glad I did!! I loved Alix E. Harrow's take on the story and the casual representation. It was a very fun and quick audiobook too.

It was a nice short story and I loved the way that fairy tales played a big role. The characters were dynamic and wonderful. I just didn’t love the ending.

I absolutely loved thisss - it was such a well done and interesting retelling that I really never had any idea of where it was going 
I liked the characters a good bit but do kinda wish there was a bit less of an open ended ending despite me overall really liking the ending and the book :) 
Anyways this was really well done but definitely fairly dark

The beginning in particular is fairly heavy handed with messaging but it does get lighter as you go on. From the opening lines, I thought we'd avoid sexist slurs but apparently not bc "b*tch" was still used 🙄. I love the lack of a central romance and I love the narrator.  Overall it's just a fun and short fairytale retelling adventure story with some actually useful messaging particularly in the ending.

Most applicable content warnings exist within a fairy tale context. Many are mentioned, and although not described in detail, are either mentioned or heavily implied and are ever-present throughout the story. The protagonist is chronically and terminally ill, and her main character arc revolves around aspects of this. Because of her illness, she is also infertile, though this does not particularly bother her.
