This was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because it started out very dirty, and I expected something like A Lady Of Rooksgrave Manor with plot taking backseat to the smut. But it was quite the opposite. I was bored at some points which is why this took almost a month to finish.

Story, Spice & Everything Nice

Lost interest once the baby bomb was dropped. It was ok and kept my attention until 75% through.

By far my favourite thing about this book was how Jade West would build the perfect set-up for the miscommunication trope, or a dramatic break-up, and in the last possible moment - surprise, did you forget the characters were grown-up people, capable of compassion, and understanding of each other's needs? Can we have more queer romances like this?
Aside from Rick's (tremendously) bad sense of style, there wasn't much I didn't love about this book. Rick and Carl balanced each other out wonderfully, and Katie was a good match for them both.
The book is dual PoV, despite there being three people in the relationship, so at times it felt like Rick was being left out of the narrative, but in all honesty, he wasn't the one dealing with traumatic pasts, like Katie and Carl were. Plus, they both kept him in mind at all times.
If you think the book had a lot of horse talk you haven't been around horse people as of late - for someone owning a horse, Katie was very chilled about Samson. Borderline forgetful.
