Didn't expect to cry and feel so much, for a book that I just picked up for the spice. The Story was beautiful and I really enjoyed this book a lot.

I didn’t expect this book to make me cry, but it did. A lot towards the end 😩
You know, I’ve come to be really impressed with Jade West. This is the second book I’ve read by her. She writes about very taboo kinks and always manages to bring such a huge amount of heart and humanity into taboos that most would just look at as kinky and dirty.
The first book I read by her was Bait and it’s about consensual non-con (rape roleplay). And it was done incredibly well. It’s still one of my favorite con-non-con books.
And then there’s this one. I’m a big fan of ménage and in particular mmf vs mfm where there is a relationship between the males as well as the female. And this one was done so well.
There’s so much love between these three and it was a pleasure to watch it evolve and grow as the book progressed. It progressed fairly naturally and I was happy to watch it.
I loved both guys but definately warmed up to Carl more because he got A LOT more page time than Rick. Which brings me to my first issue. I didn’t feel like Rick was given fair page time. He’s such an easy going guy with virtually no baggage. But I think he deserved a little more. I would’ve loved to witness him introducing Katie to his family or just something. He hardly got any page time once Katie landed the internship with Carl. I loved sweet Carl, but it wasn’t really fair.
Now I didn’t really love Katie. She was okay most of the time, but I also found her to be rather selfish and judgmental. It’s all about what she wants and her dreams and to hell with who she stomps all over to get there. Her attitude was rather snooty. And then she judges people without even giving them a chance. First it was Carl when they first met. And then her dad and Verity. She was bound and determined that she knew better until everyone around her had to jump through hoops to change her mind about them. I didn’t like this about her. But, having said that, she wasn’t so bad that it ruined the whole book. It just irked me a bit.
The only other thing I would’ve changed would’ve been Carl and Rick’s names. Not a fan. Lol And I also would’ve preferred the Epilogue to be a few years out and see Daddy Carl and Daddy Rick in action as daddies.
I also am normally not into breeding and babies in romance. But, in this case I was so happy for Carl. He’s such a sweetheart and he wanted that baby so much, not just for the breeding kink but because he wanted to desperately be a dad before he got too old. He was so sweet about it and I wanted it for him. So it worked this time.
Overall it was a great book. Jade West is an excellent writer. She does such a good job bringing so much heart into such taboo topics. I will definitely be reading more from her. Lots more.

Ok the writing wasn't that bad and the story was fine but I just couldn't handle the main characters' names being Rick and Carl...
DNF, 3hrs in and I could do any more. I found the narrator's slow and had to speed them up quite a lot.
Storyline for me was boring, lots of swearing and sex but not much else.
I dont mind that but I need a plot with it.
