As a member of the choir to whom Sagan is preaching, I have found this book wonderful. I am skeptical of its efficacy to persuade those who do not agree with the book a priori. Does it work to use reason to argue for reason, when the audience does not use reason? I have my doubts.

Carl Sagan provides indispensable information in order to be a well-informed rational citizen, provided that one wants to live in a sane society, or help create one. I did find it a bit long-winded and repetitive about quackery. All in all it was worth the purchase.
