I really enjoyed reading this book. The author's style is different than you typical book, but it's easy to get used to and, in the end, almost feels like coming home.

I loved this book and how it made me think about all the things that my mom has done for me without me realizing it.

To you, Mom was always Mom. It never occurred to you that she had once taken her first step, or had once been three or twelve or twenty years old. Mom was Mom. She was born as Mom. Until you saw her running to your uncle like that, it hadn’t dawned on you that she was a human being who harbored the exact same feeling you had for your own brothers, and this realization led to the awareness that she, too, had had a childhood. From then on, you sometimes thought of Mom as a child, as a girl, as a young woman, as a newlywed, as a mother who had just given birth to you.
“I will let go of you now. You were my secret. You were in my life, someone whose presence would never be guessed by anyone who knew me. Even though nobody knew that you were in my life, you were the person who brought a raft at every rapid current and helped me cross that water safely. I was happy that you were there. I came to tell you that I was able to travel through my life because I could come to you when I was anxious, not when I was happy.I’m going to go now.”

Ok, first 4 stars in 2022.
Not that this book is worse than other books I've read this year, but I just feel something is lacking from this book and I don't know what is that.
Second person POV for opening & ending? I FREAKING LOVE THAT. Been so long since I want to read a book with second person pov and Thank God I found this.
There were some feelings I couldn't tell while reading this book. I feel like choked and stunned at the same time, but I can also tell that my heart was warmed. Beautifully written in a very casual way, that's my spot to fall in love.

Often i cry when reading a book, it’s because how brilliantly the story is told till it was able to include me inside the story and touch my heart. But this book..the story /is/ me. I cried because how much the of the truth unfolds in each page, as a mom, as a daughter, i wept and wept..
The choice of POV and second-person narration was something unfamiliar to me, i thought it was something that got lost in translation. But then as the chapters went on, i finally arrived at the answer!
I’m sorry mom, i need you my entire life.

Judulnya kok puitis banget, "Tolong Jaga Ibu".
Bukunya tipis, cuma 293 halaman.
Nggak susah sih, cuma kalau lagi males mikir ya jadi skip-able aja gitu.
