I almost DNFed this book after the first 10 chapters because I felt uncomfortable with the dynamic that Sydney and Tanner had (e.g. him calling her babe etc.) when Tanner was in a relationship with Amelia.
I also really disliked Tara, Tanner’s sister. The things she said and did to Sydney were absolutely disgusting and hurtful.

This was a very average book. If I really like a book I can’t put it down, but this felt like a sludge at times to get through. I will say, I liked the first half better than the second, which seemed to drag.
I read the first book in this series and now this one and I feel like every though they’re supposed to be older than the characters in the first book, it felt more like high school age than college. I didn’t really feel their relationship, it just was like being told about it.
There was also a lot of times where you had to suspend belief in reality. Like the mmc getting drafted by 2 professional sports, nevermind in the same city. Or the fact that we’re meant to believe people don’t leave phone chargers in their cars at all times (I hate this plot device and it’s used far too often these days). And even if you believe he didn’t have a charger, every story sells them now, so if the mmc is gone half the day because of a road closure, he can go find a store to go into.

Fun
This was a sweet, easy, low drama read. It felt like a vacation read which was perfect in these crappy times.

* * I HAD BEEN GIVEN AN ADVANCED READERS COPY IN EXCHANGE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW * *
I don't even know where to start with this one, friends to lovers have been my go-to genre lately, and this one did not disappoint in the least either.
Tanner is a goofy fun guy and seeing him with Sydney who just is fun but knows when to be serious and seeing them go from sever attraction to friends back into more, and the transition of it was smooth and not really chopped up that takes me out of the moment.
I was able to start and finish this book in one day, I just couldn't put it down, it sucked me in with its real-life relatable issues, and conflicts.
There were characters that you wanted to hate for reasons and others that you didn't want to hate, but things that happened just drew you to that conclusion. The conflict resolution at the end did not feel rushed fake or otherwise.
It opened a few doors for more characters that I want to see get their happily ever after, whether in this series or a spin-off.
I really do recommend this book, its not really about sports but more about the relationships that revolve around the sports stars.
