⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 this is a domestic thriller about a family with secrets. It deals extensively with alcoholism and also rape. I liked it.
Oh wow. Lies, lies, and more lies indeed! Up until the very last few pages, more lies! I loved this one. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a fast-paced suspenseful family drama novel.

Lies, Lies, Lies starts out innocently enough. We meet Daisy and Simon. They seem like a fine couple, on the surface. And it isn’t until we spend a bit of time with them that we realize, all is not okay under the surface. Not at all. And I loved the way their relationship was written, because that’s so real life. We can hide things and justify, but eventually, “it” hits the fan.
So one little lie, turns into quite a big lie. And the fallout compounds upon itself. And still, no one talks about it. They sweep the issues under the rug, where they simmer, and grow, and become bigger and bigger and bigger.
There actually isn’t much I can say here, because no spoilers. But I can tell you that this one isn’t your typical quick read. It’s a page turner, but it follows Daisy and Simon for not days or months, but years. And it all comes to a shocking conclusion. This one is meaty and long, but pays off long after you read the last page.
Special thanks to Netgalley and Mira Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster, for an advanced e-galley in exchange for my honest review. This one is out today. Run to your nearest independent bookseller and get your copy! My review will be published on my blog, Women in Trouble Book Blog on August 4.

This book is not a comfortable read at all. Alcoholism, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, animal cruelty and, as the title states, lies after lies after lies.
I genuinely think the ‘Simon’ chapters were written incredibly well in the most part. His spiral into alcoholic oblivion was pretty gruelling. The shame I felt for him was very real. The ‘Daisy’ chapters were harder to read. They were written in a dull, lifeless way, which, even though that embraced the feelings of the character, it made those chapters a less interesting read.
Lucy was written well, I liked her calm demeanour in the face of constant cold, rude, abrasive attitude from Daisy.
Darryl was an abomination. Evil to the core.
I worked out the twist around a third of the way into the book, so felt it was dragged out a little too long. The last few chapters spoilt the whole book for me; they seemed a rush to the finish line and were unrealistic. But the epilogue was even more abysmal. A totally unrealistic and unnecessary twist. Such a shame.
