This book was a gripping and quick read, it's so fascinating how children can make difficult to understand things so simple and easy to grasp. Thanks, Colton, for restoring my faith in Heaven!

Quick read. That's it. Believable?? I don't know. I've got mixed views on religion. This just seemed....contrived.

just finished and loved it!

I loved this book, and found the depictions of heaven believable. The only thing that troubled me were the parts that implied that Christianity (and only a specific type of Christianity) is a prerequisite to entering heaven. This isn't consistent with my beliefs, nor even with all Christian denominations... Some (perhaps many?) Christians embrace a Universalist theology, which includes that Christianity is one way to the "Truth", and "Salvation"; but doesn't invalidate other paths. With all respect to those who believe otherwise, I've never been able to fathom how a just and loving God would allow millions of us to be eternally condemned just for not following the "right" religion. But apart from that nagging concern, I did really love this book, & can't
wait to see the movie version of it.

Wonderful book. Praise to God for giving this little boy the insight!

This book was not for me. I couldn't get past the author's "Golly gee, we're just small town REAL Americans" schtick to even begin to consider the details of Colton's story.

Heaven is for Real could be read and understood in several different ways. Some would see the book as proof of a certain viewpoint. Others might see it as a farce. I see it as evidence of the myriad ways that humans can view that which is bigger than us. The book has a very Christian outlook, and that makes perfect sense, it is written by a Christian minister about his family and their experience. Of course his view will be Christian. The details do not hold importance for me. What is important is the experience of something bigger than us.
