Anyone need to restore their faith? Anyone ever wonder why anyone had any faith to begin with? Read it. Read it especially if you don't believe in God. See if you can refute it all now
A good, fast read. Obviously, if you didn't believe in heaven in the first place, this book isn't going to suddenly change your mind. But if you're already a believer, the story is uplifting and affirming. I wasn't quite as surprised at Colton's astounding knowledge as his parents were (he is, after all, a pastor's son, and would have obviously seen pictures of God and Jesus wearing robes and crowns and angels with wings and halos, regardless of what they read at bedtime), but I thought that some of his experiences and memories were just too out-of-the-norm to have been made up. Recognizing his great-grandfather, who died before he was born, from a picture taken in 1943; meeting his older sister who had been miscarried; seeing his parents doing exactly what they were doing while he was in surgery.
I went to bed after finishing the book with a smile on my face and one of the most calm feelings I've had in months. That's more than I can say for a lot of books I've read recently.

Wonderful true story. It gave me a lot of emotions and I recommended this to my mother and grandmother. I'm very courious from reading a story such as this inspirational one.
My mom gave me this book, knowing that I'm a reader and she isn't it was a big deal. It has been sitting around my house for a few months even though I knew it would only take me 45 minutes to read, I finally read it because if insomnia and life crisis mode and I'm glad I did. I'm not saying that I'm a believer- far from it actually- but the story is a good one. Family watching over you from wherever waiting for you is always a comfort. Kind of preachy in explanations which can be understood as it is written by a pastor, but if you know enough about religion in general you should be fine skipping the bible excerpts.
Wow! It's a lot to take in! I'm still processing. I will definitely go see the movie.
I want to believe this is real. I want to believe that everyone we know , we will see again. As I read this book, I was filled with hope. I know many don't believe but why not? what does it hurt to have hope?
I want to give it more starts, but the father, who is also the narrator, really bugs me. I felt he took away from the story by his constant complaining of things he "had" to do for the church. Really? HAD? You're a pastor... Or when he mentions a few times how little he made as a pastor. Seriously? I couldn't get passed his negative tone and it took away from the real message in he book for me. Not a big fan of the author but definitely a fan of the little boy and the great pictures at the end of the book.
I was very moved by this story. Parts of it really spoke to me as a Christian.
I can't believe I didn't read this book until today! But, maybe I wasn't meant to read it until today. I don't know, but it gave me a sense of hope and peace that I really needed. It also made me cry -- good tears -- a couple of times. This book will be in my head and heart for a long time.
