I believe Christians are called to examine experience through the lens of the Bible. While many of the experiences recorded in this book are in harmony with what I believe is true, there are a number of things which contradict my reading and understanding of the scripture. The Bible repeatedly warns that we must not be swayed by experiences and visions, but compare everything to what is revealed in the Bible.

The story is very moving, but I believe there are other explanations besides a little boy seeing and experiencing heaven. I believe that the authors son, even though he was only 4, picked up much more than his parents realized. He is, after all, a pastor's kid and someone who was around church people a lot. A credible explanation of his "insights" which he did not learn in sunday school and his parents don't remember teaching him, is that these are things he could have overhead as the adults in his life talked with each other.

I want to thank my Aunt Arlene who lent me this book. Such a beautiful and thrilling real-life story.

I’ve never been one to subscribe to any specific religion but have always felt pulled the strongest towards Christianity. After finishing the book I flipped through the images and stopped dead in my tracks as Colton had when seeing Akiane’s portrait of Christ for the first time. I have to admit the photo has striking similarities to my grandfather who is so deeply rooted in his faith. Made me think for a moment that my grandfather is Jesus on Earth which might be a compliment to him.

Anyways, that took a tangent, over the last year, I have yearned to find Jesus again as I once had him as a child, but am still struggling to bring or surrender myself.

This book/story has changed my view of Heaven and certainly has given me an image of Christ that I will forever hold onto. I caught the chills while looking at that image and even came to the revelation that anytime we see a rainbow in the sky, that that just might be a tiny glimpse into Heaven.

It’s feels wrong to give this book a rating. A short read about an interesting story.

An incredible story told by the pastor father of a 3 year old boy who remembers what happened during his lifesaving surgery. The story is told so vividly and descriptively it took me right into it as it was being written. It reached my soul and made me feel it all. Great storytelling.

A great book

I really enjoyed this book. It was told in a straight forward but well written way. It was easy, fun and interesting to read. I think that whether you are a "believer" or not this book will be a fun read and will cause you to wonder.
