Even though Jesus said, “the kingdom of God is near” heaven seems far away to me. Heaven is For Real made it seem closer. It’s heartwarming and easy to read. I really recommend it for anyone dealing with death (that would be everyone)

I found this book interesting. I already believed in heaven and this one boys perspective was a good read. Overall I liked it and it kind of made me excited to get to heaven and see it for myself someday! :)

While I am quite skeptical of any proclaimed heavenly visits experienced by individuals, especially those that are turned into a book for profit, I did overall enjoy this book. I do not deny that they could happen or do happen, (considering the Bible talks of powers and the spiritual realm) but we won’t know for sure if the one in this book or others is 100% true. Best to take each one with a grain of salt and look towards the Bible for our true assurance.

Even so, I teared up at times. Real or not, this book was a reminder to me that Jesus hears our prayers and that I should be thinking heavenward more often. Read your bible and dwell on the words of Jesus and take in to account that Heaven is going to be amazing. This world is but a small sample compared to the real thing.

Not your typical NDE story, a little too much religion and not enough spirituality. This is the first NDE story that seems to follow what the bible has to say. I felt that the book was influenced by the father.

This book was a pretty amazing, quick, uplifting read. It's well-written and if you believe in Heaven you will believe more strongly than you had before.

A sweet account of one little boy's story about heaven.
emotional hopeful inspiring lighthearted sad fast-paced

Such an encouraging story. Very easy read.

The best part was the last few chapters when they met up with another young girl who had a similar experience. For a lot of the book there was just things that did not "gel" with me and even seemed contrived or forced. I do not doubt that this child probably had an heaven or death preview experience but I think most of the observations were a result of the father's beliefs (there were just too many experiences/knowledge/events for a few minutes). However the grandfather's part pulled me in as did a few other sections.

I usually shy away from these type of stories but all the buzz about this book had me interested in checking it out. It is hard to believe a little child would say the thinks Colton did if he didn't have some kind of experience but that is assuming the dad is honestly portraying what happened. I guess either way anything that encourages people to seek a relationship with the Saviour is a really good thing.
