Great book! A quick, easy read, that keeps you reading. Puts life in perspective and makes me wonder what Heaven is like and hoping Colton is correct! :)
Ok, so I borrowed this book from a friend, intrigued by some of the snippets they had discussed with me. I'm not religious, though my beliefs and interest do fall into the spiritual' realm. I hoped this book was amaze me - that I would find it compelling. Sadly I was neither amazed or compelled.
The writer of the book, the son's Farher, Todd, is a church pastor. And it is strangely coincidental that, after his trip to heaven, Colton, described images of heaven that damn near fit their descriptive passages down to a T. I'm not saying it didn't happen, perhaps it did, you often hear of people having life changing, heavenly near death experiences and I find them interesting. I just finished this book entirely unconvinced that the whole thing wasn't an opportunity to convert its 5 million readers to the author's faith.
Best bit? That damn brilliant picture by a 12 year old!

I read this two weeks after my boyfriend suddenly died. Some of it was sort of comforting and others not so much. Maybe if I were more traditional in terms of religion. This book did make me think that maybe Brian was reaching out to his mom up in heaven, not just flicking off god for all the pain he was in,
Was a nice read on a Sunday afternoon. Very uplifting not my "normal" book.
Umm.. not what I expected... i wanted to hear more about the boy's experience - not the father/family.. i don't understand why some people think if you add a couple of bible verses/its meaning - people will forget the main reason they bought the book.. I wonder if I write the publisher - would they refund my money?.
I like the idea. I just didn’t like the writing. The chapters were all over the place and in some parts uninteresting.
This is a must read for believers and non-believers. It is an incredible story from the mouth of a child.
This book is such a quick read, and it sucks you in immediately. I think there is something for everyone (even those who may have their doubts) to take away from the Burpos' story.
