My least favorite of the series - the plot felt rushed, and I wished that Rhory was a stronger character. I wanted to love their love a lot more, but the mystery came on too thick. By the time the twist rolled around, it didn't have as much of an impact.

AHHH! This was absolutely my favorite book out of the entire Darkmourn universe. This is what I was searching for the first time I picked up this book. It was filled with Vampires, Wolves, darkness, magic, and spice throughout the entire storyline It was also probably the most clearly fleshed-out retelling without the sort of “grasping at straws” to call it a retelling.. We find ourselves back in Darkmourn where peace between the supernatural world and humans in Darkmourn is broken. The Crimson Guard, the organization that is supposed to keep the peace, is corrupt, and there are family lies and secrets around every corner. And of course, thrown into the mix, we have the big bad wolf looking for its prey. When I say everything was stepped up! Everything is stepped up! The Characters were engaging, the world-building went up, and but also added to what we already knew. This book is so far Ben’s “Coven” from American Horror Story. We finally have a full vision. If you're looking for a dark, sexy, and suspenseful read, then I highly recommend Alpha of Mortal Flesh. It's a must-read for fans of the Darkmourn universe and a great addition to the genre.
