There were some really strong elements to this book, but a lot of it (including almost everything about the main character) just lacked any subtlety or nuance; it was predictable and the characters' motivations incredibly basic.

I think it had the potential for a great fantasy romp, but didn't really deliver for me.

Sanderson knows how to write an ending. The twists kept coming, and I couldn’t figure out how it was all going to work out. That was fantastic!
