Maybe it’s a translation issue, but I felt the jumping around of the book was very hard to follow. In the short stories I at least understood what was happening sort of in each story, but the flow of this book was back and forth in time and hard to follow occasionally. Plus, there was a lot happening that had no real background? I felt like there was hardly any world building, which is why I guess the two books of short stories were released. Also, some of the “woman” stuff was ick, again. Overall, I’ll keep reading but I’m not really sure I like the writing or the characters as they are right now.

I have no idea where this fits in among other books- my copy says book 1 on it, but Storygraph says it is book 3, and the internet is being wishy-washy about which is correct. Either way, I am clearly missing something here, because this book assumes I have a lot more knowledge about and investment in the characters and the world than I really do, and oh boy does the story drag.
