I would recommend reading this with your eyes because the audiobook is …silly (one of the narrators is a cat who makes A LOT of cat sounds) and it ruins the suspense/horror elements. There are twists on twists on twists in the last quarter of the book and I can see how some people might be wow-ed…but I was…not.
This isn’t your typical horror read—it’s layered like an onion. Just when you think you’ve pieced everything together, another layer peels back, making you question everything all over again. It’s unsettling at parts and constantly disconcerting, but it’s a slow burn
