Initially it was hard to follow due to the switching POV's but once you figured out who was who and that they're all a bit of unreliable narrators it's not so bad. It was hard to put down because I needed to know what happened next and who was telling the truth, if anyone. There were moments that were hard to read but they weren't gratuitous and do a good job of building the world and ties everything together in the end.

Sweet Jesus this books was a wild ride. I didn’t really start caring about any of the characters until about halfway through so that’s why it’s only 4 stars. Once it got my attention, I was fully committed to this book though. I continually thought I figured out the ending, and I 100000% didn’t.

You really need to pay attention.

2.5 stars rounded up.

I can see the appeal for this one, but I just feel uncomfortable with mental health issues being the plot twist of a book.

I don't understand the reviews of this book. I wanted to DNF so many times but stuck it out based on the reviews. I wish I hadn't because IMO there was no catharsis here.

Vague Spoilers:
It's possible to explore society's perception of trauma and neurodivergence in a way that is kind and thoughtful. The majority of this story demonizes PTSD symptoms and neurodiverent characteristics to firmly place Ted as "weird" and therefore as the villain. Personally, I feel like this book was exploitative.
