The way that I want to just remove Astrid from this series, lord help me (joke fully intended bc she’s a religious nut). My notes (there’s only 4) on this one are hilarious so feel free to enjoy those

4 of 6 down, and much like the Animorphs (written by Michael Grant’s wife - how cool!) I cannot BELIEVE these were marketed as children’s books. So wildly graphic and gorey and gruesome, how the fuck did I read this in 7th grade?! But it’s such an interesting story that it’s hard to put down and I’m enjoying re-reading as a grown up with a stronger stomach for violence, lmao.

Awesome book! The characters have grown and the plot has thickened. Can't wait to read the next one - hurry up Michale Grant!

I've not really enjoyed this books! I feel that some of the story isn't needed and so many things are happening it's hard to remember everything! I'm disappointed and have decided not to read the rest of the story

This is definitely the furthest I got in the series in the past.
Diana’s pregnancy is still shocking. The town splitting up and Caine being king is interesting and it seems Diana and Astrid switch teams so to speak. I was ready to riot if either Edilio or Dekka died. I love Sanjit and Lana and hope that virtue gets to spend time with Dahra in the next book. The bugs were terrifying but I wonder what caused the SDC supernatural death cough to go away. COVID didn’t wrap up that fast. Jack stepping up is nice. Who the fuck is Toto?! Sam recognizes him  but doesn’t explain how or why??? Will Astrid actually develop a power? My god I forgot how insufferable she is in this series! Yes I did want Sam to say I told you so. Taylor switching back to team Caine was gross, officially not a fan. How will beach kids get water? Will there be a war for gas?
not the best in the series so far but it was nice that the time between books was shorter too. I wonder if the countdowns will get progressively shorter in the next two as well.

The most gripping book yet! After 8 months, the kids of Perdido beach are still alive. With no adults times are difficult. Now with the Gaiaphage sending its deadliest weapon yet, Sam and the kids of Perdido beach have a lot of danger coming right for them!
Gaiaphage is not the only problem. A deadly disease is spreading which makes you cough out their insides!
Will the Kids Survive?

Plague is a very good book which will draw you in till the last page! Every chapter was full of excitement and danger. With such a great plot, you wouldn't want to miss this book!

This series is SO FREAKING GOOD.

It keeps getting darker and darker, to where in this one there's concurrent plotlines about
Spoilercoughing out your lungs and bus-sized bugs that plant their eggs inside humans and then eat their way out
. Gross. Made me make faces and noises of ewwness. And things just keep getting more desperate. Still unsure who the girl on the back cover is, though. Thinking
Spoilerthe Breeze
at this point. I appreciate how the books honestly bring spirituality into it, in a way that would have to come in for such desparate times. But don't worry, it doesn't get dogmatic at all. Solid, awesome. I'm bummed that I have to wait another year for the next one.

Kind of slow... but still a major book for the series!
