It's fascinating how you can draw a straight line from there in the pre-2001 world to where we are now, with QAnon and Trumpism and all the madness. It's also somehow comforting to see that Alex Jones was a bellowing weirdo caricature of a man even then.

just over half way through - feel like he doesnt take the whole thing seriously
like it was not the book i was hoping for or expecting
i cant tell what is fictional, and i am not liking the author so much
i cant relate his stories to real life, i was expecting some real exciting characters but they were quite boring and useless. maybe thats the point, that these extremists can seem so average and down to earth but this does not make for exciting reading i can tell you
it is not very funny, seems quite pointless and i am not appreciating it so much
too light hearted and doesn't go anywhere

An interesting look into a very bizarre subject, but I think that it felt a little too dry. An author with a more comedic wit would've really made this better.

Another Jon Ronson book I devoured as I had somehow never read any of his books. The ability to tell stories about unusual and often unexpected characters and myths whilst remaining deadpan and self-effacing is impressive.
