The story of Moribito. The anime based on it is the most beautiful series I've ever watched. I finished that anime with an aching heart longing for more. Now I've finished the novel, relived again those moments of joy and tears, knowing this is a story I'll always return to.
at first this book looked a bit boring but once i really started reading it,i was really into it.i love the plot of the book i have never seen this kind of plot before and i am glad a friend recommend this book to me
The narration was sparse and to the point, much like in fairy tales, where nothing is really wasted. In some ways, this might take away from character development and world building, but I still got a pretty fun story out of it, and memorable characters to boot.
A fabulous Japanese fantasy novel with a kick-ass woman warrior as the main character? Yes, please.

I had never heard of this until about 10 minutes before I started reading it so I wasn't sure what to expect but I'd seen good reviews so I had high hopes.
I ended up really enjoying it! The writing style is pretty simple but that makes sense for a young adult fantasy book. I really appreciated the focus on an older female main character and found all the characters to be pretty well rounded.
The world created is interesting and creative. I liked all the different communities beliefs shown to us and I hope we see more in further books as I want to continue this series!

I made it to 104 in this book. I think boys at school will love this. I didn't because there was just too much fighting. It's a good translation and I'm sure at another time, I would finish this but this isn't that time. I will use it for book talks though.
