This was a good read. I liked Lila and Owen's story. This was a nice start to this series.
I received an arc and this review is my own.

This was cute, funny and sexy! Definitely need more lumberjack romance in my life. I did find it a tad long, but overall really enjoyed it.

"In this town, I was Mitch Hebert's second son. That was it. I wasn't a real person here. I was an archetype. The smart Hebert brother."
I adored Elliot's Lovewell Lumberjacks series and was beyond excited to return to Lovewell! Gotta get my fill of Clive and his shenanigans, eh? iykyk
The Hebert boys (all 6 of them!?) are the MMCs of this series. If you've read LL then you know the Hebert's as the antagonists. "In my mind, he was a cruel, money-grubbing city guy. A younger, hotter Ebenezer Scrooge."
Except for Finn, who up to this moment, was ALL of ours favorite Hebert bro! <3
Now the Heberts are stepping out of the shadows, dealing with the aftermath of their patriarchs choices while also learning to be true to themselves. Owen was a gorram delight y'all. He has avoided Lovewell, and Maine in general, to get away from his father's expectations and the small town that he felt shackled him into a role he didn't want to play. Despite all that he comes home to help, because he loves his brothers and mother SO HARD.
Then he meets Lila. She is recovering people pleaser (hello relatable moment!), one smart cookie, kind, determined... practically perfect. Except, ooops she's Owen's little brother's ex girlfriend! She is also not a fan of small town Lovewell.... but her positive outlook and caring heart are just what Owen needs.
Happiness doesn't happen by chance. A person has to choose it and work toward it.
Watching them work together and allow each other a safe space to be themselves judgement free was so much fun! Heartwarming and then when it turns spicy.... Bossy Batman does it spice!
I loved returning to Lovewell and diving into the Hebert's side of town. There is a start of an overarching mystery/drama that left me with questions?!? Already ready for book 2!
