I had been waiting so long for this book—the conclusion to the entire Veiled Kingdom world! I loved every second of it. The tension had me on edge the whole time, constantly needing to know what would happen next.
Dacre and Verena’s journey wrapped up in an incredible way, and I completely fell for Dacre in this book. His worship of Verena was everything, and the chemistry between them burned even brighter here.
That said, I felt like Verena still had some growing to do. I wanted her to step forward more, but instead, she often hid behind Dacre, who gave everything on the battlefield. That was the one thing I wished had been different.
The background lore was so interesting—they expanded on it even more in this book, which I absolutely loved. The little details about the temple, the characters’ histories—everything came together perfectly to build this world.
This trilogy ended so well, giving us everything we hoped for and more!

I thoroughly enjoyed The Veiled Series as a whole. It was a fast-paced and captivating romantasy read. My favorite book in the series was the first one, titled The Veiled Kingdom.
The Rivaled Crown, the third and final book in The Veiled Kingdom Series, is a romantasy that follows the journey of Verena and Dacre. As they strive to protect their love and their kingdom, they face challenges, including ancient prophecy, betrayal, and impending war. Amidst these obstacles, they must confront adversaries and unravel deep-seated secrets to secure their future.
I really enjoyed the twists and betrayals at the beginning, but I found myself struggling towards the end. The introduction of so many new concepts felt rushed and could have been better explored in book 2. Additionally, I believe a 4-book series would have provided a more satisfying conclusion to this series.

Plot points were great in theory but everything happened way too fast, I just don’t think I like this authors style

I was really hopeful for this one. And there were bits that I liked in the book but the 2nd half of the book felt rushed. So much happened so quickly and some of it didn’t make sense. Specifically the moment with Eirian where he grew a conscience? And came clean about how Dacre’s mom died? Where did that come from?
I did like the growth of Verena from the first book and how she became more confident in herself. And I did like the general plot line.
Then there’s the end of the book, and the last sentence just didn’t sit right with me. It felt out of place and left me feeling disappointed. I liked the idea of bringing things back around to how Dacre and Verena first met but it just didn’t sit right with me.
