“The rest of the kingdom will fall to their knees before you, Verna…But please allow me to be the first.” 🥵

Days later and I’m still thinking about this book… and Dacre. That man has a way with words—most of the time very naughty ones—and I was absolutely here for it.

This was the perfect ending to the series. I felt totally satisfied with how everything wrapped up, even though I’d happily take more Dacre any day (thankfully, there’s always the reread option!). That said, I wouldn’t say no to Wren’s story… or even Micah’s.

I loved this world so much and would return to it in a heartbeat. What a ride!

Ugh, I wanted to love this series so much but I feel like I got bamboozled. The Veiled Kingdom was one of my favorite reads of 2024, but from there it was just downhill and disappointment.

The best part of this series and this particular book was the MMC, Dacre. His character literally carried this last book for me, and his growth made the book worth the time to read.

Everything else though, it was just eh. The timing and pacing of the storyline was super slow for the first half and then like someone gave it 10 energy drinks to drink and everything was wrapped up so fast it was insane. I also feel like there was some questionable wrap of my character and plot development, which just felt rushed for no reason.

With that said, I am sad to see these characters go. Book 1 made me fall in love with them, and I’m going to hang on to those versions.
