I have loved this series but the final instalment fell a little flat for me ! I found Dacre constantly calling Verena his “mate” grated on me and became irritating. The ending was rushed. I did enjoy the characters but felt I needed more from some of the side characters.
This was not the last book I hoped for.

I’m so happy for this ending but I’m so sad it has ended.
Verena and Dacre have been such a wonderful powerful couple to follow. Holly has knocked it out of the park once again and I cannot wait for this to release so everyone else sees how amazing this books is

Why is it that in basially every romantasy ETL novel when the couple realize they're mates, they completely lose their entire personalities? Like, the spice and banter aren't even good anymore. If I'm not into the plot anymore whatsoever, you can at least try to keep my attention with the smut! .
I got to the 80% point and honestly, I've got probably 90 min left of this book but I can't do it. Here are the reasons.
1.They've accepted their mate bond and gotten married and no longer have any personalities whatsoever. And the spice is absolutely boring. Not at all spicing.
2.All the prophecy and vessel nonsense was just forced on us in this book. No hints or clues in books 1 or 2.
3.The big reveal about Reed and Dacre's mom? Huh? We're we supposed to care about Reed? Or Erain, for that matter...
4.Why would anybody the rebellion bend a knee for her? And why would the Reed reveal result in Dacre's Dad bending the knee? Makes no sense. One day she starts walking and talking like Aelin and suddenly she's a damn queen?
5. What is the timeline here??I thought book 1 started one year after the raid, when shes roughly 19. She'd escaped that day (she would have been 17/18 I guess?) and been living on the streets since then. At some point, pretty early into her hiding, she and Micah found each other. And now we're somewhere around a year she's been hiding when she gets caught for stealing. Then she's in the dungeon for an undisclosed period of time. Wren is there too. But who was there first? Why was Wren there? How long was she there?
Anyway, Dacre drags Nyra from her cell and takes her back to the hidden kingdom and some time later he reveals he knows who she is and tells her to run. That's what? A few weeks?
Then she's on the run for like another week or two. And another week to get dragged back to her dad. And maybe a few weeks in the dungeon getting tortured? Then back to the hidden kingdom for another indeterminate period of time. Doesn't seem like it could be more than another week or two.
At some point in book 3 she says Micah tattooed the rebellion mark on her "years ago". And Dacre's Dad says he was only a child when his mom died. And when it's revealed that his mom died during the raid trying to get the princess (a child) out, that doesn't sound like they're talking about a 17/18 year old.
So, again, what is the timeline???

I had a feeling that this one was
going to be very different. It gave us so much world building, character development, and insights into
characters that we weren't expecting it from. The author gave us everything we needed, and a little bit more. One of
my favorite things about TRC was seeing how different Dacre and Verena's relationship differed from bk.1 through bk.3. The way he loved her had me by the heartstrings. This was absolutely fantastic.
