Very good story, sad it’s over. The ending was a little quick in my opinion but overall good

Life got in the way so I paused the book for 3 weeks, which obviously affected the experience, especially my attachment to the characters. I am sure it would have been 4 stars if I didn't have to pause it.

I enjoyed it, I think it's worth reading, it's a lovely quite short series. I love the way Holly writes, it's very pleasant, but detailed and draws you in, she has the ability to make me really emotional and get attached quickly. I didn't enjoy Verena at the beginning of this book, but then again she was in a horrible place. I enjoyed the development of her character. I think Dacre is a very underrated MMC, I loved him in the 1st book and I love him now, but for different reasons. His support, devotion and awe to her truly made me tear up, their playfullness is incredible, and the love, god - I think Holly is incredible at making us feel their love, she makes it tangible. I love the sex scenes, they are so intense and romantic, filthy but wholesome, I think she really captures how much they are attracted to each other but also how much they adore each other and how that showes in their physical interractions too. Enjoyed the last paragraph - the reference to the little traitor. The 2nd book wasn't great, but I think this is a good ending to the series. The magic system isn't my favorite and i'm a bit annoyed with the chosen one trope, but there are some interesting plot twists and there is a lot of strong female characters, which I enjoyed. I'm kind of sad it's over, but it's correct this way, it makes sense.

 SPICE:  4/5 🌶️

I think this would work for people who love smut-heavy fantasy all the way through.

I also think that HR’s fantasy series do not stick the landing for me.

The first book in both series are a fast, fun, giggly good time, but the last book always has me cringing at the dialogue, wishing it was over, and wondering if the first book was actually as good as I remember?

HR would be better off writing fantasy duologies instead of trilogies. Even though the books are so short, they are overwritten with repetitive love-declaration dialogue and chapters long scenes.
