What chemistry? I was promised chemistry and romance. We don't know anything except that they are both angsty, both bicker constantly in a condescending way, and then they hate fuck but they both "like each other" secretly. Also how are you gonna hear "it's my first time" like that over and over and then provide ZERO aftercare and boot her out while she's confused and hurt over the sequence of events. I'm good on the toxic shit. Give me an actual cute foodie romance.

This was recently recommend to be by a GR friend I remembered that I have saved this one to pick up and decided to pick it up. Really enjoyable romance with added relationship tension. Good narrator at the audiobook as well.

I had REALLY high hopes for this book! It really should score a 3.5 so I am rounding up.
Sophie and Amy are both very well written characters. I thought Sophie would be my girl, but Amy stole my heart!
The characters fit together, but I didn't like how much will they/won't they drama there was, especially since all of it could have been resolved with an honest conversation.
The plot was not very strong and not very enticing. This book grabbed me with the sample but really lost it's allure about 25% into the book. At 35% and 60% I really had to push through, hoping to get to 'the good part'. I love cooking so the cooking aspect of the plot was really the only thing that kept me going.
The spicy scenes were very mild but did a good job with build up.
Overall, I would not buy again for $10 on Kindle and I would not read again, but its good for a once through.

When I went into this book I was really hoping for more of the reality show happening during the plot, but was overall really satisfied with the angle it took instead. The characters were absolutely lovely and real.

*I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
This was a really sweet Queer romcom, and I really enjoyed it. Amy is a (somewhat uptight) restaurant manager/owner and Sophie is her head chef who is recovering from a stint on reality TV. It's the classic "we are attracted to each other but we work together/we're too different/external factors are getting in the way" situation, and ultimately it ends up being a quick, satisfying read with a good amount of steam. The topic of Sophie's late-blooming bisexuality was handled with so much nuance and compassion.
I did find the writing a little chaotic at times, but considering the setting (a professional kitchen) that kind of worked! 3/5 stars

3.5 ⭐️ rounded
This was one of my most anticipated reads for the year and it was alright. I didn’t find it to be remarkable but it was a nice book to read. I didn’t find the character’s chemistry to be much more than very lust-forward for a story where Amy and Sophie already knew each other (Half points for Canadian FMC, though). I feel like we missed out on a meet-cute and tension through pining, but I loved their individual stories with self-discovery/sexuality and familial relationships.
But also … some of the best smut I’ve read.

3.5 but rounding up because it’s sapphic and saucy! Dialogue gets a little cheesy at times but it’s a cute, light read!

Finally, a good F/F romance! The characters were well developed, the love story believable, and the steamy scenes were..steamy!
