I'm not a fan of a power dynamic in romance books. The fact that one character is the boss of the other is a major ick to me. Also, 30% in and I'm still not feeling any real chemistry between them. They keep thinking about being attracted to the other person but I suppose it's all physical, since I'm not even hearing any witty banter. Overall just not what I'm hoping for from a romance.

I absolutely adored this story of Amy, the aspiring and controlling restaurant owner and Sophie, the up and coming cook who just wants to find her place in life. The tension between Amy and Sophie is electric right from the start as Sophie is coming to terms with her sexuality while confident Amy has it all under control.

This is a great read about finding one's true self, accepting who you are and hoping everyone around you will understand and be accepting as well. This story is full of passion, both professional and personal. Both Amy and Sophie want to succeed in the business which can be tough, but will business get in the way of a potential romance?

This story comes highly recommended! Thank you Ruby and Harlequin team for allowing me to participate in your book tour! I'm so thankful to have been provided the opportunity to add this beautiful story to my shelves!

This was a lot better than I expected after the volume of romance I’ve consumed lately. Great chemistry, plenty of great *scenes* that don’t take forever to happen yet so many sweet moments. Just very feel-good.

-i haven't read a book to finish in a while that i only gave 2 stars to, and if goodreads had 2.5 i would probably just do that but they don't so here we are
-i had several issues with this book - first, the fairly predictable plotline (even for a romance novel, which is saying a lot lol), the kind of tropey characters, and the lack of character development. the last 50 pages all mushed together and i just didn't buy that amy would change a lifetime of issues so quickly
-amy was so problematic and if she had been a man in a romance novel he would be like borderline abusive
-also weird choice to NOT include the characters meeting? like esp if they immediately had chemistry!!!!
