this is purely for nostalgia I didn’t reread this but I remembered it from when I read it at like 12-13 back when I would go to bed like 4 hours later than I was supposed to bc I was so invested in my reading and the memory made me happy :^) this was one of those books that made me do that and spurred my brief middle school interest in the real King Arthur
A modern retelling of an old legend set in an American high school? Check.
Arthurian legend? Check.
A snarky narrator? Check.
What's not to love? This book was basically made for me. Awesome.

This felt really, really young. Like middle school instead of high school.
She's starting junior year at the start of the book (I'm not American, but I'm pretty sure that's not even the first year of high school?). She feels SO MUCH YOUNGER than that.

Thought this was good
If you are expecting this to be like the Disney movie that shares it's name you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a retelling of King Arthur the way it is supposed to be then you will enjoy. Though meant for juveniles Avalon High puts a fun spin on the Arthur Legend of old makes you wish King Arthur would really come back and bring us out of these times of darkness.
It may be incredibly cheesy, but I can’t help absolutely loving this book. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve read it.
A "modern" re-telling of the Legend of Camelot. It was a fast read, not very interesting.
Just the sort of fluffy tale you'd expect from Meg Cabot, but I wanted to find out how she dealt with the King Arthur/Lady of Shalott element.
