I only read it because I loved the musical/movie. Overall I love the story of phantom of the Opera and did enjoy the pieces of the book that weren't included in the movie/musical. I did feel that there were some details missing, but overall liked storytelling, the way the author inserts commentary into the book, and the overall story of the phantom of the Opera.
