Haikyu 13 takes us through the Johzenji and beginning of the Wakutani South games. Such fast paced matches and heaps of action ensued. I will continue to love this series through the manga and anime versions. Definitely a few frames and phrases that made me laugh sprinkled in this one, as well as that cliffhanger ending! Overall, 5 stars for this volume in the Haikyu manga series.

Johzenji is one of my favorite games/schools. Of all the characters and teams I am like the most I think it’s either Hinata or Johzenji, it just depends on the context.
“Tournaments are games right? And games are for playing and having fun.”

Also I forgot that this is where Daichi really pops off as a captain and a leader. He’s an icon.

They did Not just end this book like that?!!! A cliffhanger that will drive anybody out of their minds lol.

The first qualifier match against Johzenji with Terushiyama and Co was fun, and seeing Futakuchi's commentary from the stands was hilarious. I loved Aone too. I found Misaki, the manager for Johzenji to be such a lovely side character who is given the spotlight for a few pages and it's amazing to see such small characters have such impact. Daichi shines a whole lot, and even Narita and Suga played when Kageyama was injured. I'm living for this whole series.

I love the series, but sometimes there's way too much telling during the games. I don't know, but this type of genre is just better on screen than the page. I'm so glad they seem to be animating most of the series.

NOT THIS ENDING WITH DAICHI'S DEATH??
RIP. He's even on the cover...
At least we got "waka-chan out"

Sports animes are not meant to be read!
That is my lesson for this one.

Was looking forward to reading the continuation of the anime but it looks like i'm just gonna have to wait :')

On another note; looking forward to reading Uzumaki! Let's see how horror does in a manga format...
