This one picked up right after the first novel, making the reader dive headfirst into the action! Alosa is just as determined and stubborn as the first one, sometimes making me want to bash my head in a few times.  But the back and forth between her and Riden hits in all the right spots. I knew the Pirate King was the bad guy, but I didn't realize how deep his evil went until Alosa found
her mother locked in a secret room.
I really enjoyed learning more about her siren linage, and glad she got to grow in that aspect.

Simply fantastic! Genuinely a very well-written book that I could not put down. Many sequels fail to live up to the magic of the first book, but this is not one of them. I know for a fact I'll be rereading this duology.

Hmm.... I enjoyed this sequel just as much as the first book, though there was definitely more things to enjoy and discover in this one (example: the side characters).
