I enjoyed these book a lot. I had a hard time putting them down. I thought the time period was very fascinating and the characters really drew me in. One word of caution-the Roman Empire at that time was very wicked and it comes up in the novels. I didn't think things were too detailed so I wasn't really offended, but wanted to give a heads up to readers.

I have only read the first two in the series but they were both great. The story brought out all emotions, while still telling of Christ. I would recommend this series to anyone of any age, especially those struggling in their faith. :)

This trilogy is based on stories from the Bible. They are sad at the beginning but give you a little insight in what it was like to be a Christian after Jesus was crucified. They are amazing books and Francine Rivers is an amazing author.
