This book was waaaaaay too long. The MMC was an asshole. The FMC was a wet blanket. The smut was boring and in all the wrong places. The dialogue was cringe. And the whole book reeked of classism and "pick-me" attitudes. I almost DNFed. Kinda wish I had.

Marriage of convenience is one of my go to genre & and Catharine Maura really did a good job with this one.
Though there was a point when Lucian said he’d marry Elena I was like “oh no don’t be just like her other book”. But thank god it was different than what happened in The Tie that Binds.
I also liked that Lucian’s character is gay and how Alec whole heartily excepts him no questions asked.

3 is probably too high…..but sub-3 didn’t feel right. Idk I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, but it’s readable. It needs to be an hour shorter though!!
