The ANGST. Ugh. You know it's good when you're already crying 15% in. Someone recommended this to me when I was looking for recommendations for MCs that offer anything except love and this hit the mark.

Elena might be one of my favorite Catharina Maura FMCs in all the books she's written so far. She's so strong, loyal, and just a kind-hearted person. It's so easy to see why everyone in the book was so enamored with her and her sweet nature. It was a tumultuous roller coaster to get to her HEA.

I went down a star because of how surprisingly cruel Alexander was to Elena. I was surprised because a lot of CM's MMCs can be dicks but not the point where they can embarrass the FMC and degrade her. It was rough to get to the redemption. Alexander was balls to the wall jealous and possessive. Great for the read but Elena didn't deserve half the shit he put her through.

Idk I didn't really feel their love. It felt that Alexander treated elena as a piece of meat and like he  didn't get his first choice so had to settle for the next best thing.
