This book was perfect! I could not get enough of this book. I have loved everything that Catharina Maura has written, but I think this might be my favorite so far. Elena is pure and hopeful, despite being shunned by her family and she will do whatever it takes to care for those she loves. She truly has a heart of gold. Alexander is so broken. He doesn’t realize how amazing he truly is. He’s definitely a darker character, but from the beginning of the book, you could see how much he cares for Elena even if he himself doesn’t see it beyond their love story, the secrets the surround these two just keep you on your toes and not wanting to put the book down.
I just finished reading this book, and wow, it was a rollercoaster! The story starts with Elena in a really tough spot, willing to do anything to help her mom. Then she meets Alexander, who offers her a way out, but with strings attached. Their relationship is intense and full of twists and turns.
I loved how the characters were developed. Elena is strong and determined, while Alexander is complex with his own motives. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and it keeps you hooked till the end.
The plot is gripping, and you can't help but root for Elena as she navigates this unexpected turn in her life. The mix of romance and suspense is perfect, making it hard to put the book down.
Overall, if you enjoy romance with a bit of drama and the best marriage of convenience trope, this book is definitely for you. It’s a captivating read that keeps you engaged from start to finish.

I really liked this book till the very end. She stayed so mad and refused to believe that it was all real. Of course, he's going to try harder if he thinks you're going out with someone new. Its easier to win over someone single, so duh it's harder if you have other interests!! He sat outside your house every morning and night looking thinner and more tired every day!! How do you not believe it you know?! But I really loved their marriage and that she was able to not just pay for her mother's care but also solve the mystery that went with it. If the ending hadn't been stretched out (in my opinion) it would have been a 5-star read

So glad I chose to read this book! Saw it on a TikTok and was intrigued. I loved the characters and the actual storyline n this!
