Ugh I got so many feels from all 3 books but especially this one. I don't think I can write anything real? Enjoyed the series, and this book. But I was legit crushed by the ending and it really seems like, aside from the prequel graphic novels, there won't be anything else in the series? Which makes me le sad.

In conclusion:
💖 Dammit, Asa. 💙

I'm speechless...
Both in anger and in owe. If this is the end of the series, than it doesn't deserve 4 stars. One is more like it. If there is another book coming, then it should be a 4.5, what a crazy cliffhanger...
The book was dark and intense. The best on the series so far... and I've been counting the days on this one, I loved the other two.
It was not a romance. It was action packed, full of fantasy and twists and turns.
But, a lot of it was without background and the were a lot of 'holes' in the story. Which is fine if there is another book coming, but makes it a terrible book if there isn't...

And the ending deserves special attention... what?!?!?!? I hate it! I despised it! it destroyed me.
once again, if there is another book coming than ok... this can be fixed (but I don't think there is. She has not announced anything to suggest she will write another one)

So... anger and owe. It all depends if the author will fix the ending and the 'holes' in the story with another book or not.

HOLY WHAT THE WHAT. This book was amazing and the ending was gutting. I’ve seen things say another book may be coming, but it actually felt like a really powerful end to the story. And I’d read books about Mattie the Headsman for sure.

I think the story was really well written, and I didn’t see many of the twists coming. I was rooting for Asa and so often pretty convinced that there was no hope.

What a book!

I have really enjoyed this series. Someone please tell me there are more books in its future because I can't deal with that being the end of Mattie & Asa's story. For once I didn't call the ending of a story, I was expecting a different kind of tragic ending. This ending was not for me, I'm so mad at both of them argh.
This book didn't have as much of the Mattie/ Asa tension that I had loved in the previous two books, not enough "damn Matties" so I can only give it 3 stars. Although if that really is the ending maybe even less stars because, how could it just end that way!?

Mattie and Asa. Their story will tear your heart to pieces and leave you thinking about it for days.

I will not be able to deal if this is the last book!! There are so many things left to explore, Mattie's story has barely begun it would seem! It has been so long since I have been so invested in a series. If not for the unresolved ending to this book my rating would have been 4+ stars. Please, for my sanity, tell me there is more Asa to come!

I received an e-ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I consider myself to be one of the top fans of Sarah's writing. I've read all the books, have raved about them not being so known to the reading public but this book had me sit back after finishing it and wonder: "Why? Why did she do this?"

In Mosaic we follow Asa and Mattie as they make their own road, following relics and swapping magic between items. When a horrible event causes Asa to be separated from Mattie, she will do everything she can in order to save him.

While the story was filled with action and Mattie's POV struggling to save Asa, I couldn't help but notice how much depth Sarah Fine gave to both Mattie but also all the secondary characters she wrote. Some revelations were cruel, other pretty hard to understand, but I think that in the end, the whole point was to understand trough all the characters how hard you can fall in love, but also how toxic this love can be to yourself.

I admit it: the ending was horrible. I was crying by the ending of the book. I didn't want any of them to end like this! I'll not spoil but if you want to know, I am open to a discussion. It was unfair to Mattie and cruel from all aspects at least in my opinion.

This series is actually one of the darkest Sarah Fine has written so far. Although I don't know if she'll write a spin-off series, I finally understood that the point in these books wasn't the romance or the action but instead the cruel nature of the human relationship. Recommended if you want to cure your curiosity of the ending.
