Wicked Deeds On a Winter's night is interconnected with the previous book No Rest For The Wicked. The story line goes back to the Hie and starts with events which occurred in the previous book, but from the perspective of Bowen and Mariketa.

I enjoyed the chemistry between the 2 main leads, although I did find Bowen to be a little bit too much "neanderthal oaf" for my tastes. Maybe it would be more politically correct to describe him as "too classically, traditionally alpha". However Mariketa could more than hold her own and when she came into her magic she was one seriously cool badass witch. She was more than a match for Bowen in all ways, including physically; and I'll admit I got a little bit of a kick out of watching her magically "clean his clock".

As always it was a treat to see other characters from previous books make an appearance (maybe it's me but I start to feel like they're old friends). I'm developing a serious affection for Nucking Futs Nix. I hope she gets her own story (I haven't looked ahead so I don't know); then I worry that if she does it will be anticlimactic.

I am surprised by how much I am enjoying this series.

I honestly didn't like this one as much as the last one. The story felt all over the place, the back of the book was very misleading, and while there was definitely a lot of fiery hot chemistry between the two main characters, I agree with Mariketa that it was an extremely toxic relationship up until he realized what a shithead he had been and decided to change. Not really my style, and a real bummer after hearing how amazing this one would be.

Was a really good edition to the series so far,was interesting to get another kind of heroine other than Valkyrie, and a hot to trot Lyke.

The first part of this overlaps the last book from a different POV which i found really interesting, then we witness Mari and Bowen become enamored with each other albeit reluctantly.

The ending was explosive and unexpected, cant say too much in a review........

This was my FAVORITE book in the Immortals After Dark series! Mariketa is an up-and-coming witch with an attitude. Bowen is an old-fashioned lykae with a haunted past. Long ago he lost the woman who was to be his mate. There shouldn't be another. But for some odd reason, Bowen has feelings for Mariketa. Has the witch bewitched him? Seldom are romance novels good enough for a second read. But this one was good enough to read twice, back to back.

I knew Bowen's story was next. There was no way it couldn't be the way the last book ended . . . plus he and Mari were mentioned too often in the last book . . . Anywho, When Bowen finally gave in to the possibility of Mari being his mate the story really started

I don't know why this is so highly rated. It did not work for me at all and was just painful to get through. Mainly I HATED Bowen. Why? Let's see:
❌ Lots of dub-con;
❌ Tried to take off Mariketa's birth control patch and impregnate her (EWWWW

Well-developed. Heroine was funny, young, but not the naive young that gives you weird rapey vibes when the hero is with her. Bowen was a troubled hero, but that plot line wasn't driven to idiocy as some are. Many supporting characters that make more sense when you've read other Kresley Cole books.
