I had started watching the series but I really loved this book. I have the next three and I will be reading them soon. I cant wait to see what happens next with Jamie, Claire and Frank.

Outlander is a great book. The writing, the characters and the plot are amazing. I loved how Diana connected Scotland's myths with the time travelling. I think it is such a powerful book. On the one hand, it is adorable because of Claire and Jamie's love story, which is beautiful by the way. On the other hand, it is incredibly raw and heartbreaking.

I love Jamie. He's so sweet, funny, understanding... I know we don't really get to know Frank, but Jamie is so much better than him. I think Claire loves Jamie the most and I hope she realizes that in the end of it all. I also like Claire, which is kind of surprising because I often get annoyed with female protagonists. She is not perfect, far from it, but she's got such a strong personality that it is difficult not to like her. Jenny and Ian are great as well. I guess Jamie, Claire and Jenny are my favorite characters. I also like Murtaugh and Mrs Fitz. And perhaps Geillies, but I don't quite understand her.

And then there's Frank. I just hate him so freaking much. He is probably the character I hate the most of all times, of all the books I read (there's plenty of them!). I don't think I can find words bad enough to describe the bastard. He is absolutely disgusting and a horrible person. I really hope he burns in hell.

Despite making me cry my eyes out and sometimes making me want to vomit, I can say I loved this book. There is some awful stuff in there, but in the end that's what makes the story so powerful. However, I'm not sure I want to read the others because I already know some of the things that are going to happen and I don't want it to ruin my life, so yeah. I'll have to think about it.

Diana is a great writer. I found it hard to put the book down. But at the same time, I kept reading because I expected SOMETHING TO HAPPEN soon. Maybe I have read too much George R.R. Martin lately. I mean, many pages go by and things happen...but really, nothing happens. I found this frustrating at times. I am chalkin that up to the fact that this book sets the stage for another seven books. I'd still recommend this book.

I have to say this is one of my favorite novels. It takes serious talent to write a significantly long book without one single boring moment throughout the entire novel. It's just fantastic. There are no other words for it. You won't be able to put it down.

I started reading this because I was looking for something light and cheesy to take a break from some of the more serious books I've been reading. The reviews promised fantasy, adventure, and sex. Sounded like the perfect guilty pleasure type book. Instead it was one of the most boring reads ever. Took me months to make it through 3/4 of it and eventually I just gave up. The story is so devoid of any adventure you could sum it up in 3 sentences and you wouldn't miss any details. The main character is a spineless moron with a clear lack of any emotional sense. And the sex scenes are non existant.

I liked this more than I thought I would. Some of it was a bit over the top, but overall, I enjoyed the characters enough to pick up the next one in the series to see what happens.

Davon bekommt man hier sehr viel.
