4.5 ⭐️ I absolutely love this series. Osman does a fantastic job cultivating a web of relationships between all of his characters, introducing new ones, and showing growth in the regular cast. While the murder mystery wasn’t groundbreaking, I always feel connected to the club’s journey through aging. Stephen’s story line is particularly heart wrenching as his memory loss progresses. These are such a comfort read can’t wait for the next one.

We are back back back again with the Coopers Chase Crew! It’s been a while since I’ve joined Elizabeth and her friends as they solve yet another murder while doing regulars old people things.

This time they are investigating the 10 year old murder of a local journalist who was investigating a giant VAT fraud involving mobile phones and about £10,000,000.

Honestly these books are such a joy to read. The growing cast of characters brings new dimensions to the story, yes I am hoping we haven’t seen the last of Viktor and the Viking, or Alan

You know those books that have "NYT Bestseller" splashed on the front with lots of rave reviews for the author? The ones that are following a core group of characters into different adventures? Don't accidentally pick up this third Thursday Murder Club book and think you can wade in and figure what is happening.
The book follows for Central characters from a retirement community who apparently are quite adapted solving murders. Good luck figuring out the relationships between them, who the law enforcement and other miscellaneous characters are. At 80 pages in I know who died, but given that the book is set in England somewhere, it's not incredibly easy for Americans to follow the geography, pop culture references or lingo.
Yeah so I put this in the dnf file and maybe we'll get back to it after I read the two books before it? (Probably not.... The weird turns of phrases and regional dialect are very off-putting)

Unfortunately, this is my least favourite of the TMC series so far.

We follow the gang as they investigate the cold case of  journalist Bethany, presumed to have been murdered over 10 years because of her investigation into some dodgy goings on.

The Bullet That Missed had the same top quality writing and humour that I loved in the first two books of the series, but The Man Who Died Twice remains my favourite at this point - it just had more of an emotional hit. I shed a tear at both of the others but didn’t come close with this one.

At points it felt like it was trying to do a little too much with the ‘undercurrent’ storylines, just keeping them in play so they can reach their crescendo in the fourth book. With these sidelines, as well as smaller threads that resolved themselves within this book, there was too much going on outside of the core four for me.
