What I like about Lauren Dane's romances is that she doesn't rely on that frustrating trope of miscommunication. Her characters are generally well adjusted and communicate well, the challenge to the relationship comes from learning to communicate together and/or outside influences.
The handful I've read are definitely formulaic, but it's a formula that works for me.
While her main characters (of the admittedly few in her vast collection that I've read) are typically white and hetero, she makes at least some effort to be inclusive of other races and sexual preferences in the character's friend groups.

I think I picked this one up mainly for the local angle, and the descriptions of Hood River were nice. The book was just way too long for the story though, and the dustup/grovel/payoff just wasn't big enough in the end. The sexy times were well-written.

Dane really excels at writing family relationships, whether blood or of the heart. I loved spending time with them and wasn't ready to leave when the story ended.

This was an enjoyable story that flowed well but it unfortunately didn't stand out too much for me. I am looking forward to book 2 though so I will continue with this series soon.

Fun and sexy. As much as I enjoyed Natalie and Paddy having to work out their issues, which were real ones, at times it dragged the pace of the book down. However, I'm looking forward to the other Hurley brothers!

Characters: librarian, rock star
World Building: recording
Plot: internal
Sex: Medium.

There was a lot of sex in this book, which I'm generally all for. But it seemed curiously unconnected to plot and character and more like mandatory exercise. I'll try another by this author, in case this said something about the characters.

I really enjoy Lauren Dane's books and this was no exception. This book was racy but with a heart of gold just like its characters, a thoroughly enjoyable read. Side not she the phrase "push my buttons" was severely overused and "pushed my buttons" in all the wrong ways.

To boring to finish. And the heroine is over the top unreasonably annoying. She actually bitches about Paddy's brothers being too boisterous when she visits their house and how it pushes all her buttons! Shut the hell up already, Natalie!
