**spoiler alert** This one was loads better than book three. In this one, there is still a bit less activity from Visser Three, Yeerks, Taxxons, and Controllers. Visser Three makes an appearance, but as a morphed sea creature couldn’t be seen at first.

This book in the series is from the perspective of Cassie. She’s somewhat hesitant to acquire the DNA of a dolphin for a mission. Cassie ends up randomly fainting and getting a vision of sorts with a message that they believe is coming from a body of water.

Marco sees that some interesting news footage that seems a bit suspicious and figures out that it has to deal with the alien invasion. The controllers were trying to use some normal-sounding reasons to be on the water.

I thought it was really a good move to have them find this underwater dome that had been housing this andalite who turns out to be the brother of the prince from the start of book one (although there’s no proof provided of this). The dome was a fascinating addition.

This story thankfully doesn’t seem to continue the bleak feel of book of two. Possibly to avoid the bleakness of book three, Tobias in his permanent hawk form doesn’t have as big of a role as he usually does. Hopefully the bleak books were kept to a minimum in this series.

4 out of 5 stars.
