I enjoyed reading about her forays into "Culture." At this point I think I've also gathered quite a lot of assumptions about things like what I would enjoy and what I can do. Sometimes it's nice to push those boundaries and learn a thing or two.
"My Fair Lazy" is another joyous collection of real life stories by Lancaster--this time, instead of writing about things that happened already, she sets out to fulfill an experiment for the book. The author attempts to "culture-up", something we reality-tv addicted people can relate to. Lancaster once again delivers a great read, but this time it's coupled with fabulous insight into pop culture and what it is doing to us.
I am a reality tv junkie and a huge fan of Lancaster's, so this book was a great read for me. Far from her best book, it is an definite experience.

I think this might be my favorite Jen Lancaster book to date. I was not a big fan of Pretty in Plaid, but this one more than made up for it. Maybe because I have undertaken my own "Jenaissance" with similar results ( especially when I discovered Mediterranean food). Overall, this book was reliable Jen Lancaster, lots of laugh out load moments and a great story.
It's still written in the typical Jen Lancaster style, but I've found myself loving her books less the more she writes.
What can I say about Jen Lancaster? Every book of hers, I have literally laughed out loud and I say this truly and honestly. Reading at home, during my lunch hour at work or on the treadmill, I have had numerous stares because I was found to be laughing and shaking - sometimes eye watering.
Her snarky comedy hits the spot. I definitely believe that she can describe experiences with honesty and a bit of oneupness - yep thats a word! I find that when I am reading her book, I think YEP thats how I would have reacted with rats running across my floor and the dog just starring thinking its a new play toy. (This has not happened, but Miss Charlotte has a keen eye for finding flies, making friends and accidentally swallowing them. The sad eyes come when she can't find it anymore.)
I would recommend this book to those who love dry, snarky humor and a fun read. The stories and situations that Jen ends up in are just beyond funny.
