I tried to read this book once before but being a mood reader I wasn’t in the mood so during a long haul flight I picked up again and absolutely loved it! Maddox is really sweet and nice , Braxton has a fire in her thar made their banter and relationship lovely! It is a second chance romance, always being you kinda a book and at first I wasn’t super happy about the initial conflict but after a while it made sense to me given how young they were.
I also liked the “conflict “ towards the end where you can see their individual growth and them as a couple so absolutely recommend!

This book was pretty good! I’m surprised by the fact that I like it so much. I’m not a fan of sports themed romance. Braxton’s inner monologue about her perception of her weight is realistic and relatable without being terribly problematic. Plus, we love a thicc queen!
The nickname he has for her is a lil ick but I’m just glad this isn’t a bully hockey romance.
The bad guys are clearly bad and the good guys have a little more dimension than just being good. I wish the bad guy had some redeeming quality just to add that little oomph to it. Braxton’s mom didn’t have any backbone which was just disappointing. All in all it was okay. The last 20% was pretty good and thats why I added that last .5 of a star. I can’t say I’ll be continuing the series.
