A wonderful, light, romantic read! This was so much fun after the heaviness of the ACTOAR series. The characters were so well-rounded and realistic that they made the whole book believable. I'm so glad this was my intro to romance books!!

For a book called "Beach Read" this got surprisingly dark in some places! It also had a lot of heavy emotions and I definitely teared up toward the end, but honestly, I loved it. I don't normally like books that make me cry because they so often do it by being transparently manipulative, but here, the emotions are real and well-earned. There is so much depth and character development here — I loved both the leads, and their issues felt real and serious, but I also absolutely believed they could and would work through them in a constructive way.
And I don't mean to make this sound like a tear-jerker; it's absolutely not. A lot of the dialogue had me chuckling out loud, and I loved the side characters. Any book that can dig this seriously into grief and betrayal and still have me laughing as often as this one did is bound to be great.
My biggest complaint is toward the end, there is a bit of communication breakdown because January assumes some things are about her when she has no reason to do so, and I found that particularly irritating. Not necessarily unrealistic, just, ugh. But it was overall a fairly minor thing, and the rest of the book I really enjoyed.

This book was a fun witty read. It was nothing like I expected (that isn’t a bad thing lol). There were multiple times while reading this book that I found myself with a big grin on my face. Emily Henry had such a way with words in this book that it made it very easy to relate to the characters. This is a solid book.
