The first two books felt very much like any other romantasy book. This one made it seem more niche. It's still not super unique, not really. I do think it appeals to a different type of romantasy reader, though. The kinks get a little different, but not so much that it'd make the average reader ~too uncomfortable.~
A lot of themes are starting to repeat, and the plot twists are getting wilder. This could have been a three book series and left out the repetition and (some) cheap plot twists. It's very entertaining, but the author is definitely reaching in some aspects.
I did like this book best of all three. There's more sex, more action, and more magic.
