Take 2
Harley and Ambrose, bodyguard and client - this is a great addition to the A-List security series.
There is attraction and slow heat from the start with it building and well fake boyfriends who become real is always fun to read.
An enjoyable read.

I adored the last two but this one is almost painful to get through. Harley's kind of giving me the ick and Ambrose is a little too much of a doormat for me. From some of the reviews, the will they, won't they miscommunication crap happens essentially all the way. I just don't care.
My Recommendation: Another great story from Albert. This and Tough Luck are probably my two favorite from the series. The juxtaposition between big bad muscley Harley and soft, but still incredibly strong, Ambrose just worked so well. And I'm still baffled after dozens of Albert's novels at how well she writes MM sex scenes, but best not spend too much time wondering about that :-D
My Response: This was an unexpected entry in this series. I'm not really sure why, as it makes sense, but for me it stands out as slightly different than the others. Some of it may be that she brought more humor to this one that she did in the earlier two, or maybe it was the fake-boyfriend trope that I'll always love, or maybe it was the characters ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
With Bad Deal we have Harley, Duncan's (from Hard Job) partner in running A-List Security who has taken on security lead for a TV series, and Ambrose, the writer/director of said series, and his dog Hercules (I think he's a Chinese Crested, but it's been too long to recall 100% accurately).

Enjoyable book. Good addition to the series. I really liked the epilogue.
This one took me a while to read. Nothing wrong with the story just wasn't that interested.

This book started off on the wrong foot for me and never recovered. The dog felt way too important and was constantly mentioned which grated on my nerves. Every scene the dog was mentioned as being in the background, was the centerpiece, or was being discussed. On top of the excessive amount of dog, the two leads had no chemistry together. They had multiple conversations that felt like therapy talk and these moments were very awkward. Harley has been my least favorite of the A-list security members so far, and Ambrose got on my nerves. I was very disappointed considering how much I have enjoyed the author's other books and the rest of the series.
